The Cape Argus Pick n' Pay cycle Tour 2013

Thursday 7 March to Saturday 9 March 2013 the Butterflies donned their cycling gear for team Bonitas at  The Cape Argus Pick n' Pay Cycle Tour Exhibition.
Bonitas Gift: Malcolm's sought after book
We worked along-side cycling royalty, Malcolm Lange, who autographed copies of  his book “Is winning everything?’.

The sought after book was a complimentary gift from Bonitas Medical Scheme to visitors of the exhibition. Malcolm’s book truly shows his heart, and a significant part of the book reflects his feelings towards the controversy surrounding cycling today. In this book Lange’s attitude on honesty, integrity and ethics in sport are apparent.
Malcolm Lange
Malcolm De Lange is a South African cycling legend,  and has been called “the most prolific road cycling race winner of the modern era”. This extraordinary athlete has won nearly every local race in his illustrious 17 year career. He has over 400 major race victories and he won his third Argus at the 2010 Cape Argus Tour for team Bonitas, which he won after outsprinting the elite break-away group that included seven-time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong.

Finally, at the age of 37 Malcolm decided that the 2011 Argus would be his final competitive Argus, he came second. Malcolm’s career has been nothing short of spectacular, as a school boy he was  already considered one of the country’s best ever track cyclists.

Now Lange, who owns Team Bonitas Medscheme, focuses on building his team which is an internationally registered professional team, that is growing from strength to strength and is making its mark in the international arena.  A lot of focus is also spent on Malcolm’s sports management business, Lange sports, which he co-owns with his wife Jackie, where the objective is to help identify and nurture talent so that South Africa can produce Olympic and Tour De France winning champions.

Team Bonitas did it again this year as their rider Herman Fouche pipped Tyler Day and Christoff van Heerden in a photo finish.  The Bonitas team were 1st and third on the podium marking the end of another successful Argus by Team Bonitas Medscheme.
