Use promotional merchandise effectively

If you are looking for a proven cost effective way of

  • Promoting a new product
  • Increasing stand traffic at a trade show
  • Improving response rates of your marketing campaigns
  • Increasing frequency of repeat orders
  • Boosting employee morale

Using promotional merchandise, may be the answer for you.

Do's and Don’ts

Do consider using a system that requires consumers to give you their details before being sent or given something for free.

Do think “useful” rather than “novel” for giveaways. Novel may well attract initial attention, but useful will avoid the dustbin for longer.

Do make a small token charge to increase people’s sense of involvement and sense of value.
Don't give something away that has no association with your brand – make it relevant and therefore more likely to remind customers of you.

Don't forget to think about how you will evaluate the success of the promotion while still in the planning stage. This is when you can build in a measurement device.

Don't splash your budget on merchandise without thinking about how it could be linked to any other marketing or branding activity.

Logos and marketing messages that are attached to practical or fun items like pens, mouse mats and memory sticks take your marketing efforts one step further. They are interactive and useful.

Plus they sit on a desk for months outlasting more costly forms of marketing. That is why advertising with promotional products is so effective.

A promotional merchandise campaign sourced, planned and managed by Social Butterflies Promotions can:
      • Present your business as more likeable and generous
      • Improve sales
      • Keep your brand at the forefront of people's minds
      • Reduce marketing costs by advertising on a large scale at low cost
      • Lengthen the lifespan of your campaign
      • Improve the impact of your campaign - a fun usable item is more memorable than dull directory listing
      • Enhance impressions of your brands and products

Our day with the Mayor of Cape Town

The Mayor's annual golf day to raise funds for the Mayoral Special Fund took place at Rondebosch Golf Club on the 7th of March 2013.

Cape Town Mayor: Patricia De Lille
The Mayor receives regular requests for grants, donations and financial assistance. Most of these are dealt with through the normal Grants in Aid Policy, but some deserving requests fall outside the ambit of the Policy. A special fund has been created by the City and the Mayor is authorised to decide on the use of the Fund for grants to such exceptional beneficiaries.

The Mayor shows us her inner Show-girl

This year Grandwest casinos and Entertainment partnered with the Mayor and City of Cape Town to make this event a success. The one day Ambrose event attracted around 150 players, as this golf day is not only a valuable fundraising opportunity but also a business and political networking forum.

Although the day brought strong winds, the determination of guests and players alike to have a good time was stronger.

Mimes, acrobats, magicians and jugglers were just some of the entertainment at the event. Our butterflies Michelle and Shannon where dressed as showgirls, and what shows stoppers they were! The girls were the personification of the phrase  "the show must go on" as they fought the aggressive wind and chill like real troopers!

At the Grandwest hole, players enjoyed complimentary Vitamin Water, snacks and some caramel vodka, while taking in the magnificent views. Weary players were also treated to massages on the patio by the renowned Mangwanani Spa masseuses.

At the prize giving dinner Grandwest Casinos and Entertainment once again proved that they care about the community they are part of, by donating a further R250 000 to The Mayoral Special Fund.

Social Butterflies is very proud to work for clients that take their corporate social responsibilities seriously.
If pictures say a thousand words, then Videos say millions! Take a look at the video clip of this event on our Facebook Page courteousy of Grandwest Casinos and Events.

"The Mayoral Special Fund is one of many resources that my administration relies on to build a caring City by helping those who need our help most. My office is inundated with requests for financial assistance for worthy causes by individuals and organisations doing an incredible job to build a more caring City. "- Patricia De Lille
